For this first issue; a great podcast for inspiration for us planning on or currently building a business, a useful Excel sheets to pay off our debts using the Snowball Method, and a contrarian reminder that to succeed we must be irregular.

1. How I Built This - Patagonia: Yvon Chouinard
“In 1973, Yvon Chouinard started Patagonia to make climbing gear he couldn’t find elsewhere. Over decades of growth, he has implemented a unique philosophy about business, leadership and profit.” C: How I Built This is a great podcast for current and aspiring entrepreneurs. You should listen to all episodes really. Start with this one - Patagonia was created to solve an itch, and, throughout the years, it has stayed true to its values.

2. How the Debt Snowball Really Works
“Have you ever wondered if you could make the debt snowball work for you? With this free debt snowball tool, you no longer need to!” C: Although I personally advocate paying down your highest interest debt first (when it’s worth doing so…), I can appreciate the psychological effectiveness of the Snowball Method. 3. What is a Regular Person?
“Cutting straight to the point, a regular person is someone who should not bother reading this blog. They should immediately close the browser and go to a motivational seminar or spend their money on self help books written by unsuccessful people. If they are really ambitious, they can go ahead and update their resume and find another hourly or salary job that requires no change in responsibility or skill-set.” C: Them’s fightin’ words! While you may not agree with the tone and some of the tenets of WSP, the entire blog is a must-read in my opinion. They pull no punches. Let’s keep an open mind and read between the lines. Then act.
